Wood, Soil, Grass
at the UP Vargas Museum
Part of the Ties of History: Art in Southeast Asia Exhibition in Manila, Philippines
8th August – 6th October 2018
A grass installation modelled after three islands just off the Muara shoreline. The location of Field on the steps leading up to the main entrance of the Vargas Museum creates a contradiction as its location on the steps symbolises progress and growth yet the grass islands deliberately creates an obstruction of the visitors’ pathway up and down the steps.
Exhibited across three venues: Metropolitan Museum of Manila (MET Manila), Yuchengco Museum, and the Vargas Museum
