Pulau Besar 2018
Grass, Soil & Wood
Part of the Ties of History: Art in Southeast Asia Exhibition in Manila, Philippines
8th August – 6th October 2018
UP Vargas Museum, Manila

Overview:
A grass installation modelled after three islands just off the Muara shoreline. The location of Pulau Besar on the steps leading up to the main entrance of the Vargas Museum creates a contradiction as its location on the steps symbolises progress and growth yet the grass islands deliberately creates an obstruction of the visitors’ pathway up and down the steps.
